Overview

Established in 2008 with support from the University of Southern California (USC), Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) and Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the SC CTSI is an organization devoted entirely to increasing the success of translational science. The SC CTSI is part of a national consortium of CTSA institutions that work together to improve the translational research process to get more treatments to more patients more quickly. In partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services and broad based community health organizations throughout Los Angeles, the SC CTSI seeks to be a leader in engaging diverse communities and special populations in clinical and translational research to improve their health. It is led by a team of faculty and staff members who have deep experience in developing and supporting clinical and translational research in diverse populations.
