Speaking of Sammy means telling the story of the family of Antonio Amato, a great farmer and refined connoisseur of the land and its produce who grew San Marzano tomatoes in the 1960s. In the 1980s, Antonio Amato & Figli was joined by Commerciale Export Srl, which accepted the task of personally exporting its products. Today, Antonio's sons continue to keep their father's secrets and to cultivate the S. Marzano D.O.P. tomato of the Agro Nocerino Sarnese, creating a supreme line named "Sammy" in 2005, intended for those who make quality an indispensable measure to safeguard traditional tastes and quality. Sammy is an expression of man's love of the cultivation of taste. Its quality, in fact, derives from the profound synergy between us and nature, from the combination of careful tradition and proven experience in choosing good tomatoes. We work from seed, grow the tomato plants and take care of the cultivation system right up to laboratory analysis, while respecting the environment. Sammy is one of the companies forming part of the Consorzio di Tutela del Pomodoro San Marzano dell'Agro Sarnese Nocerino, which ensures that consumers can rely on the special attention paid to all control procedures, just as the Consorzio wants. Sammy is truly the top D.O.P. because it is produced in limited quantities and this makes it precious and much sought after.
