Overview
The Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is vibrant, diverse parish of over 1,500 families located in Knoxville, Tennessee, near the University of Tennessee and the Great Smoky Mountains. It is the Cathedral parish of the Diocese of Knoxville, serving over 60,000 Catholics in East Tennessee. The largest ministry of Sacred Heart Cathedral, Sacred Heart Cathedral School, is a preschool through 8th grade school serving over 700 students. Founded in 1956, SHCS is dedicated to the education of the whole child in a Catholic, Christ-centered environment, emphasizing three core values: faith, family and future.
