Overview

The Royal Aeronautical Society is the world's only professional body dedicated to the entire aerospace community and was established in 1866 to further the art, science and engineering of aeronautics. The Paris Branch was formed in 2004 at the British Ambassador’s Residence in Paris and has been supported over many years by IPSA (Institut Polytechnique des Sciences Avancées), a Paris-based aeronautical and space systems engineering school. Today, Branch objectives are fulfilled through monthly lectures and industrial visits covering all aspects of aeronautics and aerospace, aimed at professionals, students and interested parties. The Branch now benefits from a hosting arrangement with the European Space Agency (ESA) in Paris for 6 to 8 events each year. In addition to its annual dinner, the Branch holds an annual event in celebration of Charles Lindbergh and hosts a Breakfast Reception at the Paris Air Show at le Bourget, which takes place every two years.
