Overview

We at Action for Impact under our ROSHNI Fellowship project believe that teachers and educators play an important role in creating future leaders enabled with skills and knowledge. Also they are instrumental in disseminating knowledge among adolescent’s about mental health, gender equality and menstrual hygiene. Formerly this initiative was known as The Period Project. Together with two local partners, civil society organisations, we train teachers improve their topic content, pedagogy, and classroom management skills. We also help them understand menstrual hygiene management, MHM best practices, and train them as facilitators and also help them understand how to minimise barriers. Our ROSHNI Teachers training of the trainer (ToT) workshops and awareness sessions for teachers are based on the following: We help teachers improve their topic content, pedagogy and classroom management skills We form teacher peer groups based on Zilla Parishad Blocks in order to build a powerful teacher collective developed by local partner organisations, which could aid in the sharing of best practices among teachers. Workshops focused on learning and practicing classroom activities to complement the syllabus given in the textbooks. Workshop and capacity development session of teachers to equip them as menstrual hygiene awareness and gender equality facilitators. Focus on peer-mentors, coaching and support, online content and webinars. Our ROSHNI Teachers training of trainer (ToT) workshops and awareness sessions includes participatory techniques and personal reflections, group activities, role-plays, brainstorming sessions, games, PowerPoint presentations, video screenings and discussions. We are looking for civil society organisations, colleges, corporates, etc. to partner with us for the same.
