Overview

RORABIO is a pre-clinical stage spin-out of Case Western Reserve University and Emory University. We are developing a class of newly discovered stem cell-like memory T-cells with potential to make cell therapies more durable, safer and longer-lasting for patients. Oncology Project RORABIO has a new platform for making chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cell drugs. The platform consists of recently discovered stem cell-like memory T cells (RORA-Tscm) that can be used to make a variety of CAR-T drugs. We believe CAR-T drugs made from these special T-cells have potential to exhibit better durability and less patient side effects. The new platform is flexible and can be used to build CAR-T drugs with nearly any desired mono- or multi-specific CAR. HIV Project In addition to providing a platform for making new and more durable CAR-T drugs, RORA-Tscm cells may provide a potent new weapon in the global fight against HIV infection. RORABIO has exclusive access to research designed to see if the HIV receptor can be removed from RORA-Tscm cells. If successful in clinical trials, RORA-Tscm cells lacking the HIV receptor could potentially be used to reconstitute the T-cell repertoire of HIV patients with new and more durable cells that are resistant to infection.
