Overview

RoadCem is a patented additive which can be used in cementitious stabilisation applications, whether this be soil stabilisation or the production of HBM or CBGM materials. RoadCem is an inert blend of synthetic zeolites and alkali earth metals, manufactured exclusively by PowerCem Technologies BV. for over 20 years. Around the world it has successfully stabilised over 11,500,000m2 of soils. When RoadCem is used as a low dose catalyst within cement stabilised materials it modifies the cement hydration process. At a macro level this creates a fibrous matrix of crystals which not only enhance the flexural strength of the stabilised material, but also provide proven benefits to compressive strength, impermeability and enhanced resistance to sulphate bearing soils or those with high organic contents. Independent research carried out at UK University in 2020 has shown the benefits of combining RoadCem with a partial GGBS cement replacement blend. These benefits applied to both high sulphate bearing soils and more typical soil types encountered across the UK. These characteristic improvements to any RoadCem stabilised layer offer greater durability and performance in both temporary and permanent works applications. RoadCem also allows the use of higher levels of cement binder to be used to achieve higher strengths and bearing capacities but without the consequential shrinkage and cracking typically associated with high dose cement or lime stabilisation. RoadCem is distributed in the UK by PowerCem Technologies UK Ltd. They offer warranted third party designs and product supply to those contractors actively engaged in the soil stabilisation industry.
