Overview

RIXML is the international standards body that has standardized the tagging of investment research content and of inter-firm interactions records required to comply with MiFID II. The RIXML Standards Suite was developed to address the needs of: • Investment research end users such as analysts and portfolio managers • The IT departments that support these end users • Vendors and others who create products used by these end users About the organization: RIXML.org is a consortium of buy-side financial services firms, sell-side financial services firms, and vendors who provide products and services for creating and distributing investment research. Our goal is to improve the process of electronic research distribution and interaction reporting management by creating an open industry standard for tagging investment and financial research. About the specification: RIXML is an XML standard that provides a set of tags and rules that can be used to describe investment research documents, audio files, etc. Using the RIXML standard enables firms to improve the process of categorizing, aggregating, comparing, sorting, searching, and distributing global financial research. RIXML is: • the tagging that describes a document, not the document itself • a set of components, rules, lists, and recommendations that enable clear description of investment research and other investment data • a standardization of terms used to describe certain aspects of research, such as security type, region, etc. • an open standard, with no license fees
