Overview

Reviving the Islamic Sisterhood for Empowerment is on a mission to amplify the voice and power of Muslim women. We imagine a future where all Muslim women are connected, reflected, celebrated and emboldened. We train and equip women with the necessary skills to engage and participate in civil life, become part of the solution-creating decision making process, and improve society as a whole. The Muslim woman image has always been in a negative limelight. We realize it's because someone else is always telling our stories for us. We're taking back our narrative through Muslim Sheroes of Minnesota, a project to amplify girls and women in our community who aren't waiting for permission to change the world. The Sisterhood defines a "Shero" as a female trailblazer who is creating change in her community. She takes risks, she challenges misconceptions and addresses injustices. Sheroes are on a mission to build a better world, and the Sisterhood is here to support them and lift their voices. In order to develop leadership skills, RISE provides skill building workshops, trainings and events. RISE leverages local female scholars and professionals to provide skills based learning activities, as well as invite national female scholars for speaking engagements. RISE's platform gives local female leaders a venue to speak, teach and share.
