What if instead of building affordable homes that depend less on fossil fuels, they were fueled 100% by the sun? Instead of depleting aquifers less, they recharged aquifers? Instead of producing less waste, they produced no waste? Instead of building with less toxic materials, only non-toxic, sustainably sourced materials were used? Instead of buildings that are less bad for the planet, we create buildings that are good for the planet, that make the world a better place? Although these net-positive Living Buildings exist, we are on a mission to build the first Living Building Challenge certified affordable home on Maui so that each additional LBC home helps heal, regenerate, and become resilient.
