Overview

The Private Refugee Sponsor Network (Ontario) is a not-for-profit organization that assists private refugee sponsor groups – whether they are faith-based, community based, or groups of five. Since 2016, we have offered workshops to meet immediate needs around issues of culture, housing, health and wellbeing, employment, education, ESL, and citizenship barriers and incentives, among others. Participants appreciate the practical tips, expert advice and counsel, and input from individuals with lived experience. They come to the workshops with questions and leave with information to better support those they sponsor. The Network is a recipient of Yvan Baker, MP, Etobicoke Center’s 2020 Community Service Awards. The Award particularly focuses on the importance of volunteering and the impact it has on changing lives. Our goal is to promote and ensure the successful post-arrival settlement of newcomers by private sponsors in partnership with many organizations in the refugee settlement sector. PRSN does not sponsor refugees, find sponsors, serve individual newcomers direct or help with immigration issues. For more please visit: refugeesponsornet.ca
