RAW strives to help the Midwest become a prospering outdoor recreation destination by communicating the needs of user groups, assisting in grant writing, identifying external funding sources, and developing public/private models for resource development. With the cooperation of municipalities we offer human, financial, and logistical resources to accomplish recreation goals. Mission Advocate, develop, and support outdoor recreation in the greater Winona area to improve quality of life, protect our public lands, and encourage sustainable economic growth. Vision To make the greater Winona area one of the premiere outdoor recreation destinations in the Midwest. Goals - Facilitate communication and advocacy among outdoor recreation user groups including, but not limited to those who: hike, road cycle, rock climb, ski, fish, mountain bike, birdwatch and paddle. - Project a positive message around outdoor recreation activities and initiatives. - Facilitate partnerships between the public and local officials. - Support development of and increase access to recreational facilities Promote the conservation of natural resources.
