Overview
The Rainbow Homes Program- (Rainbow Foundation India)- intends to create ‘social value’ by improving the living conditions and future opportunities of street children in the country, one of the most destitute classes in the world. The (RHP) provides comprehensive care to street children who have faced extreme vulnerabilities. These children were/are abandoned, have run away from violent and abusive situations, have grown up in violence, are victims of sexual, physical and mental abuse, and are children of sex workers and manual scavengers in rural and urban India. RHP rescues these children from a life of uncertainty, helplessness, and impending criminalization through its residential and community-based care. RHP aims to enable these children to live a dignified and independent life with a job, housing and social network. We are govt and UNICEF recognised, child rights, child protection and child care based NGO operating PAN India. Since 2002, RHP has reached out to over 14650 street and vulnerable children. The program is extending care to nearly 5138 children and 742 young adults through running 47 residential homes, Community Based Care Program and a Futures program and 12 Rainbow Community Care Learning Centre in 10 cities of India namely; -Delhi, Patna, Kolkata, Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Anantapur, Chennai, Ranchi and Mumbai. What we envision is an awareness in the society to ensure there is no child left on streets with no education, food, love and care or moral support. For this we require assistance in form of volunteering, spreading the Rainbow Homes Model, Financial support - donations, Govt support and civil society contributions. If you dream of making a visible impact to the lives of the vulnerable and making a remarkable effort in our journey to build secular, child rights-based comprehensive and open care places for these children, visit our website or apply to us at https://www.rainbowhome.in
