Race for Water Foundation

Overview

Created in 2010 by Marco Simeoni, a Swiss entrepreneur and sailor, the Race for Water Foundation is an organization dedicated to ocean conservation, known for its Global Odysseys aboard revolutionary ships in the service of the oceans. For more than 10 years, and two worldwide expeditions, the Foundation has studied the impact of plastic pollution on ecosystems and human health, while providing its community with relevant solutions to prevent plastic waste from reaching waterways. Starting in 2024, the Race for Water Foundation will resume its operational actions, aboard a revolutionary Zero CO2 emissions new catamaran, the MODX 70, with a new Odyssey supporting multiple missions geared towards its new focused topic : oceans and climate change. By implementing its “Learn, Share, Act” program, it will demonstrate the importance of decarbonizing the maritime world and preserving a healthy and living ocean. 🎯 OUR MISSION : Decarbonising fossil-fuelled ships with new adapted sailing systems. 👁️ OUR VISION : The ocean warms up and becomes more acidic, as a direct result of the dissolution of more CO2. These changes irreversibly damage marine ecosystems. OUR PROGRAMS : 🔬 LEARN : In the field investigations with scientific experts. 📢 SHARE : Alert decision-makers, raise awareness among general public and educate the young generation. ⛵️ ACT : Promote solutions with sustainable economic, environmental and social impact.
