Overview

QM Records is a Brighton based Record Label / Events company founded and ran by Ned and Nicholson from band Normanton Street. Started in 2013 QM Records has been prominent in UK scene representing a DIY ethos The Label began from a brainstorm before a Normanton Street EP launch in which the idea was birthed to start an imprint. Firstly QM Records acted as the administrative arm of Normanton Street but coincidentally grew into a discovery platform for new local Brighton talent, and established itself in the events space. The label host regular events in music venues across Brighton and London such as Green Door Store, Mesmerist, Patterns, Rialto Theatre, Old Blue Last, Hoxton Bar and Grill. Looking to build on from this foundation QM are actively looking at expanding event operations in other cities in the UK, Europe and further afield. The label has built strong grassroots networks across the UK and Europe through organizing tours. The label successfully organised some US shows too and are looking to Africa and Asia for new opportunities in expanding markets. QM put out a string of Normanton Street EPs such as Phoebe Freya, Much Respect and Life’s Real between 2014 and 2016. QM put out Tommy Sissons first EP Etchings 2014 and followed it up with his debut album in 2017 We Were All Mud and Halos. QM released Chloe Bodur’s debut single Glory, Littlehampton Rapper Taff’s debut single ‘Take A hit’, Mrisi’s debut EP 'Mamela', Bobbie Johnson's 'Another Man' and recently released a new EP from Normanton Street called ‘Long Road’ plus latest single 'That's It'. 2020 saw the label get behind Brighton based Dutch future star Kymara launching her debut single 'You' QM Records believe in building artists steadily with solid foundations. The Label believes in the ethos of a village rather than just the individual. This summer marks the 7th year of QM Records - a testament of hardwork and steady progress
