Overview

Pyrenergy is an Energy from Waste (EfW) business, that recovers materials and energy from hydrocarbon wastes that would otherwise be destined for landfill, incineration or export. Our organisation believes in sustainability and the circular economy, offering a solution to ecologically problematic and challenging waste, whilst providing decentralised power generation, located near demand, via a distributed power network. We do this using a very clean process called 'pyrolysis' (pyro = heat, lysis = separate), which thermally decomposes the organic polymers from waste in an oxygen free atmosphere, volatilising into oil and a combustible gas, which are then used to generate power. The whole process has very low emissions, and all the by-products are either repurposed or recycled. We believe that access to affordable clean energy is an inalienable human right and it is our goal to create a platform for delivering this.
