Overview

Prospanica is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering the Hispanic community to reach its full educational, economic, and social potential. The organization was first formed in Los Angeles in 1988 as the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA), but outgrew it and embraced its rebrand as Prospanica -- along with its expanded mission -- in 2016. The organization advocates the pursuit of higher education and advancing Hispanic leadership. Prospanica maintains more than 47 Chapters and hundreds of community partners across the United States and Puerto Rico. Current trends forecast that Latinos and Hispanics are the largest and fastest growing minority group, but disproportionately underrepresented in professional employment. With Hispanics expected to account for 60 percent of U.S. population growth between 2005 and 2050, Prospanica knows that success in education and the labor market is of immediate and long-term importance to the nation’s economy.
