Propshak is a Social Enterprise officially established in 2020. We are the very first special effects school based in Ayrshire teaching the community and young people specialised production skills including SFX Makeup, theatrical set building, creature design and much more. Our aim is to be Ayrshire’s first Production House creating opportunities for young people that will open a career path to colleges, universities and job opportunities within their studio. We are slowly growing and expanding with aims to provide interior/ exterior sets, displays and props for film companies, events, theatre shows, musicians including our own productions showcasing high quality displays. “Coming back to Ayrshire from working on productions such as Still Game, Outlander, Bollywood I realised there were no jobs or opportunities for aspiring artists within Ayrshire. Most theatre/ events companies were either hiring sets, props etc. from external companies or there was no production value at all which led me to launch the Propshak School. With the film industry booming in Scotland, this is the perfect time to be here transferring this exciting skill set to young people and the community putting Ayrshire back on the map through the creative arts.” Shakeel Anwar
