THE SPDH STORY The Nigerian educational system is not built to prepare students for the realities of the cooperate and the business world. Schools in developed countries aside from their rich curriculum that deepens the technical skills of their students, go as far as setting up career centers to help prepare their students for what is obtained after graduation. They engage in best practice programs & projects to give their students a competitive edge upon graduation. What chance does the Nigerian student stand, especially those in public institutions against their counterparts in private and foreign universities in the global outlook of things? What can we do to change the narrative of "unemployable graduates," that employers have about the Nigerian graduates? Our proposed solution is advocating for personal development within the student populace. Students need to take their future into their hands and create opportunities for themselves. They need to figure out what they want, why they want it, and how they can go about getting what they want. Personal Development, if taken seriously by students can be the game changer to everything students need to become more valuable and prepared for the harsh realities that life presents beyond the walls of the University. This is why we exist as a Student Personal Development Hub. We want to advocate for personal development within the student populace, especially to those in remote institutions. We want to be the one-stop hub to help students through their development journey. To inspire, enlighten & expose students to relevant information & skill sets that will give the competitive advantage to compete on global fronts.
