POWER SOUND STUDIO is situated in Amsterdam. Recording every music genre, POWER SOUND STUDIO can be called a state of the art studio with the great assortment of vintage microphones, outboard gear and now the newest Solid State Logic 'Duality' console. Paul Pouwer (1966) officially opened POWER SOUND STUDIO in 2003, after already working as sound engineer for more than 25 years. Besides working in his recording studio with artists/musicians like: Madeline Bell, Raul Midón, James Genus, Jimmy Haslip, David Liebman, David Sanchez and many famous Dutch artists/musicians, he also worked and still works as engineer of the Metropole Orchestra. This orchestra plays with great artists like: Herbie Hancock, Pat Metheny, John Scofield, Kenny Werner, The New York Voices, Gino Vannelli, Shirley Bassey, Oleta Adams, Steve Vai, Terry Bozzio, Elvis Costello, Al Jarreau, Chaka Khan, Lucie Silvas and many other artists. POWER SOUND STUDIO is situated in Amsterdam- West and consists of two live rooms. The biggest live room has the unique size of 180 square meters, which is very suitable for recording larger ensembles like big bands or chamber orchestra’s. The second and smaller studio has 25 square meters. The studio has a beautiful Steinway D-274 grand piano. Paul Pouwer is the proud owner of the vintage microphone collection like: Neumann U47, Neumann U48, 2x Telefunken ELAM251, Neumann M49, 4x Neumann U67’s, Neumann SM69, 2x Neumann KM 56c’s, 5x Schoeps M221b’s
