Overview

Postcards For Peace is a UK based charity promoting equality and diversity by helping to eliminate discrimination on the grounds of race, gender, disability, sexual orientation or religion through education. We are seeking to create activities which foster an understanding between people from different backgrounds and create an environment in favour of equality and diversity. We are also using our work to raise awareness of issues relating to violence, bullying and human rights. At present we have three main projects for schools,a round the world, to get involved in: 1. Our Postcards Exchange Network, pair sup two school sin different countries and encourages children at each to design and write their own postcards which are sent to their partner school. We believe that this gives children a great opportunity to learn about others in a very tangible way. 2. We also encourage schools around the world to sign up as Ambassador Schools for Postcards For Peace. Each school is given it's own page on our website, where they can share what they are doing to spread peace through out their community and beyond. 3. Each year we hold a Postcard Design Competition which always proves very popular and we receive entries from many different parts of the world. On top of this we have well over 100 Goodwill Ambassadors, of all ages, from many different countries and backgrounds. These Ambassadors help spread word of our work in their own countries as well as helping to shape our work.
