PLINIOS Independent Environmental Consultants is a Spin off Company of the National Center for Scientific Research “DEMOKRITOS”. It consists of a group of skilled scientists and technical staff, dedicated exclusively to weigh and assess environmental risks. The vast experience in sensitive and demanding projects in Greece and abroad, as well as the cooperation with leading scientific institutes, places PLINIOS to a unique position of trust and prestige in its field. SERVICES Asbestos: Asbestos surveys for identifying & mapping asbestos materials, bulk materials analyses, air monitoring during asbestos abatement projects and issuing asbestos clearance certificates. Consulting services, management of asbestos projects, and organization of training seminars. Environmental due diligence: Surveys to identify hazardous substances and materials (asbestos, lead, radon, heavy metals, PCBs, etc), risk & legal responsibilities assessment and. Reports on the remediation and safe handling of hazardous materials. Supervision of rehabilitation work and all necessary sampling & analyses for confirmation of the complete rehabilitation of the area. Environmental assessment of contaminated land: Assessing & mapping of the existing state of the soil and groundwater. Determination of possible active or inactive sources of pollution. Estimation of the existing environmental risk. Proposals for the rehabilitation and protection of groundwater & soil. Ship repair in safe environment: Inspections of ships for the identification of hazardous materials & pollutants, overseeing their rehabilitation. Sampling, testing and issuing of certificates of clearance. Monitoring environmental parameters during ship dismantling and recycling, as well as advisory services for evaluating the environmental risk during major or minor repair work. QUALITY The laboratory of PLINIOS has been accredited with ISO 17025 for sampling and analysis of asbestos according to European regulations
