The main focus of "Plant Stress" lab is centered on plant abiotic stress tolerance. Combining biochemical, transcriptomic and molecular approaches, we are interested in understanding how plants respond to their environment and how these organisms cope with different types of abiotic stress, such as heavy metals, herbicides, pharmaceuticals and other emerging contaminants, like nanoparticles. Our lab also aims to increase plant productivity under stressful conditions, by using green-approaches, like the exogenous application of silicon, brassinosteroids and salicylic acid. The developed studies have been carried out using in vivo and in vitro cultures.
