Our aim is to improve human health and nutrition and combat global warming by harnessing the powers of our sustainably farmed Australian seaweed. We are Australia’s first seaweed farm and one of the few globally using seaweed in food products outside traditional Asian cuisine. In the Shoalhaven, we capture sun and sea to grow a unique local seaweed and help to reduce the carbon footprint of neighbouring food processors. We do this using our proprietary knowledge about seaweed and bio-molecular systems engineering. We have built the key bio-circular technology that captures wasted biomass flows from large-scale food production systems which release CO2, nitrogen, phosphorus and other nutrients. We farm our seaweed, which can grow 50 X faster than traditional crops, by remediating these nutrient streams, returning and keeping them in the food chain, while cleaning up the coastal zone from waste nutrient impacts. We operate our own brand – PhycoHealth – and manufacture a range of food & beverage products and supplements to make the nutritional potential of seaweed accessible to everyone. From corn chips to pasta to muesli and more, our Australian medal winning seaweed fortified foods deliver real nutritional value and taste fantastic. The applications for seaweed are far reaching. We have developed a skincare range to harness the healing powers of seaweed and a natural polymer from our seaweed has been tested in clinical studies and biotech applications for wound healing.
