Overview

Phi Delta Epsilon is the largest and oldest co-ed medical fraternity in the world, spanning hundreds of chapters and thousands of members across the world. Gaining membership in Phi Delta Epsilon is highly competitive and representative of many traits: that a student is well-rounded, vigilant, determined, and exceptionally capable. As Phi Delta Epsilon, we mobilize our student chapters to volunteer and combat large-scale public health issues, as well as develop professionally with specific programming events tailored to the individual premedical student. We are the California Iota undergraduate chapter at UC Berkeley, founded in 2007 by Felix Wong and Tony Chen, with the sponsorship of Dr. Bernard Griego. Through our passion and dedication towards excellence in the field of medicine, we have expanded tremendously since then, haven initiated hundreds of new members since our inception. Our alumni have been accepted and matriculated to prestigious institutions such as Harvard, Columbia, and USC medical school, and we pride ourselves on having an acceptance rate to medical schools much higher than the average UC Berkeley premedical student.
