The popularity of American craft beer culture has exploded on a global scale; in September 2014, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam became home to its own premium brewery, Pasteur Street Brewing Company, providing world class, American craft beer styles in small batches with a unique Southeast Asian influence. Using the highest quality hops and malted barley as well as incorporating exotic local ingredients, Pasteur Street beers exhibit character that is not seen anywhere else in the world. John Reid has worked in the hospitality industry for 14 years. After graduating from the University of Central Florida in 2008, he made his leap to Vietnam. In his five years there, he has managed multiple hospitality venues and grown accustomed to the Southeast Asian ways of life. Being a craft beer lover, John anxiously awaited its arrival to Vietnam to no avail. He has decided it is now time to establish a local beer scene and show the world what Asia has to offer with exclusive flavors not seen yet in the beer industry. Alex Violette has been involved in craft beer for 6 years, working for award winning American breweries. With an degree in Biochemistry from Maryville College in Knoxville, Tennessee, he has played a crucial role in implementing quality control techniques to the craft brewing process. He has experience constructing over 80 different recipe styles including barrel-aged beers and wild fermentations with plans to bring this knowledge to Pasteur Street beers. Vietnam is known for its distinct cuisine with selective spices and fine taste. Pasteur Street Brewing Company incorporates this fine taste from this region into their craft beer, as well. Brewing locally will give the them the opportunity provide premium styles of beer at the peak of their freshness.
