Overview

The Partnership for Career Development is a nonprofit that leads career readiness initiatives to improve workforce and economic development in South Central Pennsylvania. It is a collaborative effort of the Capital Area Intermediate Unit, K-12 schools, postsecondary institutions, businesses and government. The Partnership offers a variety of programs for schools, businesses and students including: • Consortiums – County-level and regional sessions held throughout the academic year that provide opportunities for educators to collaborate on career readiness challenges and strategies • Career Connections – Career exploration events for high school students to learn about in-demand careers in industries such as healthcare, technology, manufacturing and logistics • Educator in the Workplace – Employer-based events that connect educators with on-site tours and experiences to broaden their knowledge of careers that they can share in the classroom • Student Career Fairs – Multi-day expos that showcase employers and high-priority occupations to hundreds of middle and high schools students from school districts throughout the region The organization serves Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Juniata, Lebanon, Perry and York counties.
