Overview

It all started from a boy whom during Eid, were often enjoyed classic dishes like macaroni schotel, spiku & other sweet delicacies, which served by his family. According to historical facts, that cakes & cookies were from the Dutch Colonial Era. At that time, It served for breakfast, tea time, or ceremonial events . Being a Dutch colony for 350 years, some elements of their country’s culture are absorbed & mingled with our local culture, one of them is culinary. From that reason, it make a huge interest for him to bring back that nostalgic dishes & reintroduce it to the younger generation. To make it more acceptable, He adds a trendy flavors & local touch to the cakes & cookies. With “retro pop art” branding, it makes more attractive & becomes everyone’s favorite. The Journey began in 2011 at Surabaya. “GUNA-GUNA” mean “hit by a spell”. He choosed it because it’s unique, catchy, & creates a curious impression. “SNACK MANTRA” is defined as the tagline. The philosophy is : People who eat the cake & cookies will continue to be addicted to its deliciousness, can’t stop craving more, just like people who are “hit by a spell”.
