Overview

The Oxford Technology & Media Network was founded in June 2008 and has around 400 members. The Network is a small but influential group of senior management and professionals working at owner, CEO, CTO and director level. It is intended to provide a genuine local forum covering the issues surrounding these exciting and cutting edge industries. It has evolved through the contacts of its managing board who discovered that many members spend so much time going to London (and all over the world) that they rarely have time to talk to very relevant people on their very own doorstep. Membership is strictly invitation only and is open only to those who fit the membership criteria and are known personally to the board or trusted recommendation. Members include senior management from organisations such as Solid State Logic, Microsoft, BBC, BSkyB, Isis Innovation, Bestport Capital, HCL, Pinewood Shepperton, and The Royal Society. The group meets 3-6 times a year for evening networking with a keynote speaker. Recent speakers have included Christopher Figg, Film Producer on The Future of the Film Industry in the UK and Ed Vaizey MP on the Creative Industries. Sponsors include Grant Thornton and White October.
