Our Voices Against Harassment (OVAH) is an organization with the vision to end sexual harassment and establish gender just and violence-free communities in Tanzania. a)Meaningful Actions -OVAH provides a platform where girls and young women who face sexual harassment from teachers, school staff, and even relatives, neighbors, and others can report and speak out about these incidents. We believe that speaking up is the first and the most important step to address the issue of sexual harassment and sexual abuse. The victims also choose what kind of help they want from us, either, legal and other forms of support. Girls need a safe space to speak up about these incidents and we are here to listen and give them the necessary support! -Connect victims with Psychologists and Legal Practitioners - We are currently recruiting psychologists and legal practitioners who wish to give back to their communities by giving their services to the victims and survivors of sexual harassment and sexual abuse for free. b)Awareness and Advocacy -Raising Awareness through Mwajuma Simama animation and in-school seminars- Mwajuma Simama! Is an animation series that aims at raising awareness about the problem of Sexual abuse and Sexual harassment that girls and women face in our societies and initiating conversations about taboo topics such as consent, rape, etc encourage the victims to speak up about these incidents.
