Overview
Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in Ellicott City Maryland is a Catholic Pre-K to Gr. 8 National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. Our nurturing faculty and staff are dedicated to educating the heart, mind, and soul of each child entrusted to our care. Students are nurtured to develop a love of Christ and a heart for service. We have weekly Mass, and each class serves a specific charity. Founded in 1879 as a one-room school house, we now have 241 students, a 15% enrollment increase from 2017. We are committed to making excellence in Catholic education available to as many families as possible. Our $7,250 tuition places us in the low-to-mid-range of area Catholic schools. In the past five years we have built an interactive learning center and library, installed interactive projectors in classrooms, and launched a 1:1 Chromebook program. In 2016 we earned The National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award. This affirms the hard work of students, educators, administration, and families in creating a safe and welcoming school where students master challenging content. We were one of only 50 private schools in the nation receiving the honor in 2016. Our standardized test scores are in the top 15% nationally. Our students thrive in a Christ-centered environment that builds virtue, and reaffirms the values that families teach at home. Our student population is beautifully diverse, with 17% African American, 5% Hispanic, 1% percent Native American, 5% Multiracial, 11% Asian/Pacific, and 61% White.
