Overview

Omair Sana Foundation (OSF) is an esteemed NGO registered in both Pakistan and the USA. The mission of the Foundation is two-pronged: Working for the treatment and prevention of Thalassaemia, and providing Emergency Relief in Natural and Man-made Disasters. It’s an initiative taken back in 2003 by a Pakistan-born American doctor, Kashif Hussain Ansari. Named after the two kids he had lost to Blood Diseases, Omair and Sana, the Foundation was established to operate in Pakistan and primarily support thalassemic children whose families are financially challenged and, therefore, unable to afford the treatment. Today, Alhamdullilah, Omair Sana Foundation is run, managed and overseen by a group of highly qualified professionals from different walks of the life. Our aim is to work day in day out for better patient management and increased level of Thalassemia awareness to minimize and, eventually, altogether eradicate this disease in Pakistan. Under the ‘Emergency Relief’ vertical, there is a long history of work that has been done at both National and International levels. Be it Earthquake in Azad Kashmir, Flood in Baluchistan, Displacement of masses as a result of Swat Operation – the Foundation has been on the forefront of the Relief efforts. OSF also takes pride in having taken part in the relief activities undertaken after Floods in Bangladesh and Earthquake in Haiti.
