Overview

‘Ohana is the Hawaiian term meaning ’family’, in an extended sense of the term, including blood-related, adoptive or intentional.’ We are a team of ordinary people creating something extraordinary, a world with an open heart, ready to listen, equipping people to respond, support and help. We come from various walks of life and ages. Our goal is to reduce the suicide rate by promoting, protecting and preserving life. We understand there are many excellent charities that perform incredible work in this regard. We wish to neither replace nor replicate their admirable endeavour. Our focus is primarily on changing the conversation around suicide by making free training available to the people in this country and beyond with the aim of empowering you to “Show you Care, Ask the Question, Make the Call“ We provide education that will enable you to identify the signs that someone may be suicidal, to employ the correct language in asking the appropriate questions and to ultimately direct that person to the appropriate help. Take our ZERO suicide training today and gain the skills to save a life. The training, which takes approximately 20 minutes, focuses on breaking stigma and encouraging open conversations: www.ohana.ie/training If you would like any further information on our training or to give us feedback, then please contact us at ohanazerosuicide@gmail.com In the case of an emergency or if you need any support please refer to our Resources page www.ohana.ie/resources
