Overview

Oak Meadow is a nonprofit Montessori school offering high-quality early-childhood through eighth-grade instruction to the children of Littleton and 20+ surrounding cities and towns. We are accredited by the American Montessori Society and the Association of Independent Schools in New England. We have been serving Massachusetts families since 1977. It is the mission of Oak Meadow to cultivate confident, independent, and compassionate human beings by providing the tools and experiences needed to embark on rich, meaningful journeys as responsible citizens of the world. Board of Trustees members assist in formulating the organization's goals and objectives, proactively identify and respond to strategic organizational needs, support organizational policies and procedures, and serve as visionaries for educational opportunities. We seek to build on over 40 years of helping local families to unlock and nurture their children’s unique potential. Board of Trustees members operate in a voluntary capacity to provide strategic leadership in support of our school’s mission. The board makes long-term decisions, provides financial management, and communicates regularly with the Head of School to ensure excellence in education and protect the long-term health and well-being of the school. Trustee service includes a commitment to actively participate in nine board meetings per year, and serve on one or more board committees (they include: the Audit and Risk Management Committee, the Committee on Trustees, the Facilities and Safety Committee, and the Finance Committee.)
