Notre Dame of Maryland University

Higher Education

Overview

Since 1895, Notre Dame of Maryland University has prepared thousands of high performers and creators of social change. We’re consistently responsive to the needs of a student body hungry to learn, and a world hungry for knowledgeable, compassionate leaders. NDMU embodies the pioneering educational tradition and social justice mission that spurred the College of Notre Dame to welcome the first class of women pursuing a four-year baccalaureate degree in 1895. We offer certificate, undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. programs to women and men along with being Maryland's only institution of higher education with an exclusive undergraduate women's college. Our transformative educational model prepares students for leadership and success. Located on the North Charles Street college corridor in northern Baltimore, NDMU's beautiful campus is situated on 58 wooded acres in a residential area. The University also holds classes at sites in Anne Arundel, Harford and St. Mary’s counties for part-time students. The University’s 22,000 alumnae and alumni have become leaders in a full range of professional fields and have made important contributions to family and community life throughout the country and the world.
