Overview

Nonlinear Dynamics is a Clean Tech Energy Research & Development company that is developing hyper-efficient electrical motors and generators. Electric motors consume more than 50% of all electrical energy produced globally. To power all these electric motors-the bulk of our electricity generation, over 60%, is still produced by burning fossil fuels which contributes a significant amount of CO2 to climate change. With the global economy growing an average 3% per year, and many developing countries looking to modernize the demand for electric motors is set to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 6.4% until at least 2028. Electric motors are used to create mechanical power much like a gasoline engine. Gasoline engines however have an efficiency of only 20 to 35%. Electric motors on the other hand have an efficiency typically between 80 and 90%. There is a revolution happening in the transportation sector right now as all major auto manufacturers have pledged to phase out gasoline cars in favor of electric cars in order to reduce CO2 production. Therefore Electric cars driven by electric motors are set to dramatically increase the demand for the use of electricity over the coming decades. As this transition to cleaner vehicles occurs, electric motor efficiency is going to play an ever increasing role in creating a more sustainable economy. Every % gain increase in electrical motor efficiency increases the range of an electric car a meaningful amount.
