Overview

The Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC) was established in 1987 to develop and implement certification examinations for nephrology nursing. - NNCC is separately incorporated, and an independent organization that collaborates with the Center for Nursing Education and Testing (C-NET) in test development, test administration, and test evaluation. - It is the goal of NNCC to promote the highest standards of nephrology nursing practice through the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of all aspects of the certification and re-certification processes. - NNCC recognizes the value of education, administration, research, and clinical practice in fostering personal and professional growth and currently provides five examinations to validate clinical performance: -Certified Dialysis Nurse examination - Certified Nephrology Nurse examination -Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician examination -Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician - Advanced examination -Certified Nephrology Nurse - Nurse Practitioner examination - NNCC is a charter member of the American Board of Nursing Specialties (ABNS).
