Overview

We are Nearby Nature! We’re a research-led social enterprise helping to draw attention to existing nature that often gets overlooked in urban areas. Connecting with and enjoying nature can happen for anyone, anywhere. We’re extremely proud of our ongoing collaboration with the University of South Wales Psychology department, looking at how these cards effect and influence people. Our initial results are really promising and we can’t wait to share them with you. Taking notice is one of the 5 ways to well-being (New Economics Foundation[a]) and time spent observing and enjoying time in nature is proven to have many health benefits, including helping to ease fatigue, lower blood pressure, and reduce stress levels, alongside countless others. People in cities, people in areas of economic deprivation, people with disabilities or chronic illnesses, face more barriers to enjoying the benefits of nature. We want to help remove some of these obstacles and make accessing nature feel possible for everyone.
