National Youth Orchestras of the Netherlands

Musicians

Overview

The National Youth Orchestrass of the Netherlands (NJON) Foundation is the organisation behind the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands (NJO), Jeugdorkest Nederland (JON), the NJO Muziekzomer Gelderland festival and (together with the Metropole Orkest and the National Youth Jazz Orchestra of the Netherlands) behind Jong Metropole. NJON supports the best young musical talents and conservatoire students aged 14 to 26 in their development and in building a professional career as a musician. At the same time, we at NJON strive to introduce a wide spectrum of classical music to the broadest and largest possible audience. NJON organises high-quality programmes for a wide audience that include classical music, but also jazz and improvisation. All activities are organised by a small permanent team, which is supplemented by (various) temporary employees during busy periods. A large group of volunteers supports the realisation of the NJO Muziekzomer Gelderland. NJON's activities are made possible in part by the support of governments, funds, Friends' Foundations and sponsors.
