nabokov is a theatre company based in the eastern region, dedicated to putting new writing at the heart of British culture. Through a pioneering commissioning and creative process we challenge writers and audiences to re-invent how new writing is made and experienced. Since 2001 nabokov has hosted an extraordinarily diverse programme of work around the UK and internationally, premiering the work of over 1,000 artists. We have produced and curated vibrant artistic events at venues and festivals around the country, as well as touring premiere flagship productions. Previous productions include the world premieres of BLINK by Phil Porter (Traverse, Soho Theatre); SYMPHONY, a theatre/live music collaboration with composer Ed Gaughan and writers Ella Hickson, Nick Payne and Tom Wells (Lyric Hammersmith, Greenwich+Docklands International Festival, Imagine Watford and Latitude); YOUNG PRETENDER by EV Crowe (Underbelly, National Tour); the Fringe First-winning and internationally acclaimed BUNNY by Jack Thorne (Underbelly, Soho Theatre, National Tour, New York); FAIRY TALES by Jack Thorne and Arthur Darvill (Latitude); IS EVERYONE OK? by Joel Horwood (Latitude Festival, Drum Theatre Plymouth, National Tour); 2ND MAY 1997 by Jack Thorne (Bush Theatre, National Tour); ARTEFACTS by Mike Bartlett (Bush Theatre, National Tour, New York); and TERRE HAUTE by Edmund White (Trafalgar Studios, National Tour). Ours is a writer-led theatre that embraces all the innovation, complexity and diversity of the 21st century.
