Overview

MusicDNA is a music technology company founded by Mr. Dagfinn Bach in 2007. The company is a frontrunner in the data collection of music. Our tech team is based in Ilmenau, Germany, and sales and admin functions are in Norway. One of the company's main objects is broadcast monitoring. MusicDNA uses advanced technology to track 30.500 radio channels in real time for songs played. This can be used by collection societies, publishers, record companies, PR Agents, or artists and managers to track songs being played worldwide. In 2020 MusicDNA was selected for a research project, MuSEc ("MusicDNA Sustainable Ecosystem"), financed by the Research Council of Norway, focusing on increasing transparency and sustainability within the international music industry. Our partners in the project are the Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Media Technologies (IDMT), the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH), and the University of Agder (USA). In addition, we have a broad selection of user groups from the communities of publishers, performers/songwriters, producers, and management within the music industries.
