Overview

Motivating Medics targets young pupils of lower socioeconomic backgrounds - with great emphasis in and around London, UK. Many of our youth aspire to study medicine but face drawbacks in their social and educational environments. Marginalisation, feeling under-inspired and lack of good role models are just a few of the causative factors. The aim is to motivate, inspire and educate – helping them realise that with hard work, a career in medicine is not out of reach. Ultimately, pushing these pupils in the right direction in order to increase their confidence, maximise their performance, and help them reach their study goals. Through workshops, mentoring and school talks, the objective is to bridge the gap, and help widen access into medical school.
