Overview

The Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Educational Foundation, Inc. provides funds for special and innovative programs for MCPS that regular funds cannot support. Montgomery County Public Schools serves 156,000 students in over 200 school facilities, placing it among the largest school systems in the nation. Contributed funds are directed toward projects designed to actively support efforts to provide equitable opportunities for MCPS students to maximize their knowledge and skills, community engagement in support of successful student outcome and MCPS strategic initiatives. The MCPS Educational Foundation, Inc. is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code established in 1988 by the Montgomery County Board of Education. The MCPS Educational Foundation receives funds from testamentary estates, charitable foundations, government granting agencies, businesses and civic organizations, and individuals.
