Overview

The MiiE (Messages, Identity, and Inclusion in Education) Lab (pronounced “me” lab) harnesses the power of artificial intelligence tools to address critical questions in the social sciences, with a focus on issues related to education and society. By bringing together experts from diverse fields such as computer science and the social sciences, we aim to catalyze new research and develop innovative approaches to understanding complex social phenomena. Our interdisciplinary approach draws on cutting-edge techniques from fields such as computer vision and natural language processing to analyze high-dimensional data and generate insights into the factors that shape beliefs, attitudes, and decision-making. We strive to catalyze new research in the computational social sciences, drawing on insights from psychology, sociology, economics, and the humanities, and ultimately understanding how to help ensure that all children have equal opportunities to fully develop their potential.
