Overview

Founded in 2000, METRO ARQUITETOS is an architecture practice that develops projects at different scales, from temporary installations to urban interventions. With a work method that combines technical rigor and research, the office seeks to promote the collective use of built spaces - public or private - and the integration between the proposed interventions and the environment in which they are inserted. With participations in international offices such as OMA, in New York, and Fosters + Partners, in London, Martin Corullon and Gustavo Cedroni have extensive experience in projects linked to the institutional, commercial and, above all, cultural areas, with works completed for the Fundação Bienal de São Paulo, Nestlé, Natura, Galeria Leme and Instituto Moreira Salles. The partnership with MASP (Museu de Arte de São Paulo), which has been going on since 2015, stands out as the office’s team is responsible for the exhibition designs and for the new annex building in construction. Other projects include the cultural project at Cais das Artes, in Vitória, the first AESOP store in Brazil, in São Paulo (both with Paulo Mendes da Rocha), the expansion of the Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA), in São José dos Campos and the renovation of Ladeira da Barroquinha, in Salvador.
