Overview

We’re a family on a mission to bring tasty, healthy and sustainable food to the world. Try our products, a delicious culture clash between Sweden and Africa! Our family’s roots are in Ethiopia and Eritrea, countries where teff is used in almost every aspect of cooking. When our mother taught us how to cook, we were told to make use of what we had and never to waste a thing. We didn’t know it back then, but we’ve been into sustainable cooking ever since we were kids. In 2018, we decided to bring it to the Swedish breakfast table in the form of granola and porridge. As one of the first companies to bring teff to Europe, we had to do it all ourselves. Setting up our own farms in the south of Spain and opening our roastery was no easy task. But we did it the way we always do things – as a family. So, what makes us believe in teff? Let’s start with the health benefits. What it lacks in size, it makes up for with unusually high levels of magnesium, zinc and potassium – all vital for brain, heart, kidney and muscle health. Like quinoa, it contains all of the nine essential amino acids that acts as building blocks for protein. Sustainable food has never been more important. At the same time, most of the crops on this planet consist of corn, wheat and rice. And they all have a negative impact on the environment. In addition to being one of the world’s most nutritious grains, teff is also one of the most sustainable. It takes less time, less water and less space to grow than any other grain. When the wind hits the crop, some of the fragile seeds fall to the ground, planting themselves. This means we get to reap what we sow – twice. Teff is a tiny grain. But we’ve got big plans for it. Our goal is to make it one of the most popular grains in the world. Of course, this won’t happen overnight. But we won’t give up! 🧡🌾
