Overview

The vision of Mary’s House for Older Adults is to assist in the elimination of overt and subtle discriminatory behaviors, specifically in housing toward people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals as they age and experience the need for a more shared communal living environment including brick and mortar and its The Villages at Mary's House Project. Anticipated construction and funding costs: $8.9 million The current planning: • 15 ADA compliant single rooms including a suite with personal bathrooms, and closets, • a common living room and a common dining room, • a shared kitchen, • 2 laundry rooms and an administrative office, • hydrotherapy room, and, • an exercise/meeting space. The outside of the property will have a front porch, gardening area and a parking lot. Mary’s House for Older Adults will collaborate with other agencies to coordinate health and wellness services and educational programming, as well as limited direct services intended to facilitate the continued independent living of its residents.
