Overview

We create colourfully illustrated homeware, stationery and gifts all proudly made in the UK. We both completed design degrees and worked for a number of years in the design industry. Whilst Hepsie was on maternity leave and Martha was living the daily London commute we established our little business back in 2011. When we were both made redundant within months of each other we decided to commit to martha and hepsie ltd full time. We have since worked our creative socks off to establish a successful retail and wholesale business. We're a sister team based in Sheffield and Devon, designing and selling our own colourfully illustrated collection of homeware, nursery decor, stationery and gifts. (Whilst constantly trying to juggle family demands and everything else life chucks at us)! We have had the pleasure of working on a number of exciting collaborations and wholesale projects along the way, including work with the British Skin Foundation,bespoke designs for the Deputy Prime Minister, book cover designs for BOSH and numerous private commissions. Our products have been sent across the world and have been in a number of stockists including a selection of John Lewis stores as part of their 'made locally' initiative. Every single m&h design is proudly created by us. Each animal and bird illustration is hand drawn in our snug Sheffield studio using the humble tools: pencil & paper. Our designs are then brought to life with repeat pattern and an injection of colour. We spend hours on our product development, testing and sampling before we are completely happy with the final outcome and show you the final result! From making the lampshades ourselves to selecting only the finest ceramicists to hand decorate our fine bone china mugs, we pride ourselves on the quality of our products and only work with the best materials and UK manufacturers to produce them. We champion UK made and are helping to bring British made products back into the homes of our style savvy customers.
