Overview
World's Best Hot Sauce produced on the Melinda 🥕 Farm in Belize, Central America 🏝 made by the Queen of Habanero, Ms. Marie Sharp (83). Marie's products are available in more than 30 countries. Marie makes chutney, jams, jellies, fruit wines, red recado (Belizean season-all) and her legendary pepper sauces. Her original carrot-based habanero pepper sauce recipe is the de-facto Gold Standard for Caribbean-style pepper sauces, which draw their appeal from fruit, vegetables or mustard, as opposed to vinegar. To this day, Marie's pepper sauce recipe consists of 100% whole, hand-harvested, hand-chopped, fruit and vegetables, freshly roasted garlic, fruit vinegar, fluffy snow-white, hand-raked sea salt and freshly squeezed key lime juice. She then adds varying amounts of her heirloom habanero peppers, species she has been selectively breeding for more than 30 years. This is the Grand Cru of sauce. In 1980, on Melinda Estates, in the Stann Creek Valley, Belize, Central America, Marie Sharp came up with some recipes for sauces, jams, and jellies while experimenting with fresh Habanero peppers, vegetables, and fruits from her farm. She was overwhelmed with positive feedback and encouragement when neighbors and friends tasted them. That was when she decided to turn it into a family business. Initially, Marie Sharp started her production in a small kitchen with help from relatives and an employee. With a determined business frame of mind, Marie Sharp's Fine Foods has grown to more than 100 full time employees in their factory in Stann Creek, Belize, manufacturing for local and international markets. Marie Sharp’s family-owned business takes great pride and honor in producing products with the highest quality, living up to their slogan, “Proud Products of Belize.”
