We are more connected than ever. But are we really? In my talk and book (Future Human) I share a different perspective on the world we live in today, a time of accelerating technological chance, and take you on a journey towards Homo Conexus, the future human. If we get it right. Nowadays all focus in on performance. Even our children, as soon as they start going to school, need to fit the levels of performance that we have set for them. This strive for performance and perfection is everywhere. In companies, in society. Everything we do is measured and benchmarked. At the same time we see that more and more people have a depression. The numbers for burnout are increasing, and at a younger age than we have ever seen before. Our healthcare costs are going through the roof. And nothing is fixing this trend, yet. We need to get unstuck. I believe that it’s time for a shift from Homo Sapiens – meaning wise man – to Homo Conexus – meaning connected man. But not in a digital way. We need to reconnect with what it means to be human. To connect with yourself, with another and with the whole.
